Supplying into Kuwait

We quote and supply material packages for projects in Kuwait. GULF MEP is based in Riyadh; delivery terms and lead time into Kuwait are confirmed per order rather than assumed.

Conformity: KUCAS

Kuwait operates its own conformity framework, the Kuwait Conformity Assurance Scheme, implemented by the Public Authority for Industry. It applies to imported and domestic products alike and verifies that specified goods conform to the applicable technical regulations.

This matters at the enquiry stage rather than at the border. Tell us the delivery is into Kuwait and we will confirm the conformity route for the specific items before you place an order — a shipment that arrives without the right documentation is a delay measured in weeks, not days.

What the Kuwaiti market asks for

Commercial and residential development, healthcare and education facilities, industrial and oil-sector support infrastructure, and a substantial maintenance and refurbishment market on an established building stock. The categories that move most are electrical, HVAC, plumbing and pumps.

Design conditions

Kuwait's summer design ambient is among the highest in the region, and this is not a detail to leave out of an HVAC enquiry: air-cooled equipment loses substantial capacity against its nominal rating at that condition, and equipment selected on the catalogue figure will not hold temperature in July. Send the design ambient you are working to.

Coastal exposure applies in and around Kuwait City and the coastal industrial areas, which means 316 stainless rather than 304 where chlorides are present, and outdoor plant specified for salt-laden air. Supply is 50 Hz.

Frequently asked questions

What is KUCAS and does it apply to my order?
The Kuwait Conformity Assurance Scheme is the framework the Public Authority for Industry uses to verify that specified products conform to the applicable technical regulations. It applies to imported and domestic products alike. Whether a particular item is in scope depends on what it is, so tell us the delivery is into Kuwait and we will confirm the route before you order.

How much does the summer design condition affect equipment selection?
Materially. Air-cooled equipment is rated at a standard condition that Kuwait's summer exceeds by a wide margin, so nominal capacity overstates what the unit will deliver. The correct allowance depends on the specific equipment, so send the design ambient and we will confirm the manufacturer's derated figure rather than applying a rule of thumb.

Do you have an office in Kuwait?
No. GULF MEP is based in Al Malaz, Riyadh. We quote and supply into the Kuwaiti market, and delivery terms and lead time are confirmed per order.
