What this site collects
GULF MEP operates a quotation catalogue, not a shop. The only personal information the site receives is what you type into one of three forms:
- Quote requests — company name, contact name, email address, phone number and country code, the country you selected, your message, and the products and quantities you added to the request.
- Contact enquiries — name, email address, phone number, company, subject and message.
- Newsletter signups — email address only.
Nothing else about you is gathered. The site takes no payments, so no card or bank details exist anywhere in it.
What is stored alongside a submission
Each submission is stored with the language you were browsing in, the page or product it came from, and your browser's user-agent string. Your IP address is not stored: a one-way SHA-256 hash of it is kept instead, salted with an application secret, purely so repeated spam submissions can be recognised. That hash cannot be turned back into an address.
What it is used for
To prepare and send your quotation, to answer your enquiry, and — if you signed up — to send the newsletter. It is not sold, rented, or shared with third parties for marketing. Newsletter emails carry a signed one-click unsubscribe link.
Cookies and browser storage
The site sets a session cookie, which is required for the forms to work and for cross-site request forgery protection. Your light or dark theme choice is stored in your own browser's local storage and is never sent to us. If web analytics is enabled, Google Analytics sets its own cookies; when it is not configured, no analytics script is loaded at all.
Asking us about your data
Write to us using the address on the contact page and we will tell you what we hold about you, correct it, or delete it.
Still to be published
Two items are deliberately absent rather than filled with boilerplate: a stated retention period for enquiry records, and the registered legal entity and commercial registration number of the controller. Both will be added here once formally set.
