MEP Material Supply in Saudi Arabia

Our home market. GULF MEP is based in Al Malaz, Riyadh, and quotes MEP material packages for projects across the Kingdom.

Where we are

GULF MEP is based in Al Malaz, Riyadh. Saudi Arabia is the market we know best and the one most of our work sits in.

What the Saudi market asks for

Saudi construction is running at a scale that changes what procurement has to do. Between the giga-projects, the housing programme, the expansion of healthcare and education estates and steady commercial development, the constraint on a package is rarely whether a product exists — it is lead time, conformity documentation, and whether one supplier can carry enough of the scope to keep a schedule intact.

That shapes what we are asked for. The categories that move most for Saudi projects are electrical — cable, protection and distribution in volume — HVAC, where the design ambient is the governing number, plumbing for pipe and tank packages, and fire fighting, which is inspected before anything else is signed off.

Two things specific to Saudi Arabia

Conformity is a customs matter, not a formality. Products entering the Kingdom are registered through SASO's SABER platform. Regulated products need a Product Certificate of Conformity, and a Shipment Certificate of Conformity is issued against it for the consignment. Without the paperwork the goods do not clear. When you send an enquiry, tell us it is for Saudi delivery and we will confirm the conformity position for the specific items before you order, rather than after a container is sitting at a port.

The supply is 60 Hz. Saudi Arabia operates at 60 Hz, unlike most of the region. Resistive equipment does not care; motors, timers, pumps and some control gear do, and a pump curve at 60 Hz is not the curve at 50 Hz. Confirm the frequency on anything with a rotating or timing element.

Design conditions worth stating in your enquiry

Summer design ambient across the Kingdom is high enough that air-cooled equipment loses meaningful capacity against its nominal rating, and inland sites are hotter than coastal ones. Riyadh and the interior also see genuine winter heating demand, which coastal Gulf projects often do not. Tell us the design condition you are working to and we will select against it.

How to get a price

Send the take-off, the schedule or the drawings with quantities. We come back with pricing, availability and lead time for the Saudi market specifically — not a general price list. There is no published price list because MEP pricing genuinely moves with quantity, specification and destination.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need a SABER certificate for materials delivered to Saudi Arabia?

Imported products are registered through SASO's SABER platform, and regulated products need a Product Certificate of Conformity with a Shipment Certificate issued against it for the consignment. Requirements change, so tell us the destination is Saudi Arabia with your enquiry and we will confirm the current position for the specific items before you commit to an order.

Does the 60 Hz supply affect what I can order?

For anything with a motor, a timer or a rotating element, yes. A pump or fan running at 60 Hz turns faster than at 50 Hz, so flow, head and absorbed power all change and the motor can be overloaded. Purely resistive equipment is unaffected. State the frequency in your enquiry and we will select for it.

Do you supply outside Riyadh?

Yes — we quote for projects across the Kingdom, including [Jeddah](/en/gcc/saudi-arabia/jeddah) and [Dammam](/en/gcc/saudi-arabia/dammam). Delivery terms and lead time are confirmed per order rather than assumed, so send the delivery location with your enquiry.

How much capacity should I allow for Saudi summer conditions?

Air-cooled equipment is rated at a standard condition that Saudi summers exceed, so nominal capacity is not what you get on site. The correct allowance depends on the equipment and the design ambient at your location. Send the design condition and we will confirm the manufacturer's derated figure rather than applying a rule of thumb.
